Windows®7 Professional improves the Tablet PC with greater accuracy and speed for handwriting recognition, support for handwritten math expressions, personalized custom dictionaries for handwriting recognition, and more.

New editing gestures and smart correction provide better accuracy and efficiency for handwriting input. Personalized custom dictionaries help with the recognition of specialized vocabulary.

Windows Journal turns your Motion Tablet PC into a digital writing pad. You can unobtrusively take notes on your tablet in meetings or in a variety of locations. You no longer have to take notes on paper and then enter them into your computer later.

Use your voice instead of a mouse, keyboard, or pen to control Microsoft Windows-based applications. You can also use your voice to dictate text directly into applications.

Motion Dataguard

Motion DataGuard protects your hard drive when a shock sensor inside your Motion tablet PC detects a situation that could potentially damage the hard drive, such as a drop or harsh vibration. The protection system stops your hard drive by moving the read/write heads of the hard drive to areas that do not contain data, and may also stop spinning the disks of the hard drive.

WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment)

Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) is an extensible recovery platform based on Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE). WinRE provides a platform for image recovery. To facilitate restoring a computer to its factory state, a recovery image can be placed on the Windows RE partition. This eliminates the need for a separate recovery media. When the computer fails to start, Windows automatically fails over into this environment, and the Startup Repair tool in Windows RE automates the diagnosis and repair of an unbootable Windows Vista® installation. Furthermore, Windows RE is a starting point for various tools for manual system recovery. It can help reduce support costs by up to 80 percent through automatic repair of common root causes of unbootable operating system installations.

Motion QuickNav ¹

Motion QuickNav™ is a dashboard-like application to provide quick access to: the Microsoft Windows interface for entering text or launching email; recording audio notes with VoiceNotes™; taking pictures with Geo Tags and other specialized programs which have associated shortcut keys to launch; and any other applications you use most often. QuickNav provides three different keyboard or input styles for easier data input in your working environment.

Motion Omnipass

OmniPass provides password management capabilities to Microsoft Windows operating systems. Fingerprint recognition devices or SmartCard devices are some of the hardware security devices that can be used by OmniPass. OmniPass restricts access to your desktop, applications, websites, and other password protected resources. OmniPass enables you to use a "master password" for all Windows, application and on-line passwords. The "master password" will be used to enter any password protected site or program once you have registered those resources with OmniPass.

(The Motion Medical Pak is available as a separate software purchase on a user installed CD)

Tablet Input Panel

The Motion Medical Pak installs more than 212,000 words into the Tablet Input Panel (TIP) for fast, accurate recognition of handwritten, healthcare industry-specific words.

Note: Due to the size of the medical word list, the built-in Microsoft Speech Recognition application will not operate with this feature installed in the Tablet Input Panel (TIP). Microsoft Speech Recognition users should not install this component of the Medical Pak. Importing the medical word list into the Tablet Input Panel (TIP) and using voice recognition is possible by installing a third party speech recognition application (such as Dragon Naturally Speaking).

The 30th Edition of Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary contains more than 125,000 medical definitions, covering the language integral to contemporary medicine. A system tray service also provides quick ad hoc access to medical terms.

Dorland's Electronic Medical Speller

Elsevier Dorland's spell checker adds more than 212,000 words to the Office spell checker.
